Live Music with Ruben Pacheco, Saturday August 21, 2021 from 5-8pm.

The buzz on Ruben Pacheco started when he sang at his 3rd grade talent show at the age of 9 and from that point a musician was born. He joined band in middle school where he took up trumpet playing and became the lead player during his time in middle and high school. During his time at school Ruben also took up playing guitar, bass, piano, and percussion. All in all Ruben can play about 9 different instruments.

A major turning point in Ruben’s music career came when he was selected to play for renowned Tejano Music Recording Artist Gary Hobbs where he toured all over the state of Texas including New Mexico, Arizona, California, Washington, Colorado, Kansas, Florida, Michigan plus he did a few stints in Mexico as well playing in different cites such as Monterrey, Mexico City and Guadalajara. He also recorded in three of Gary’s albums Soy El Mismo, Ardiente, and Cosas Del Destino. Ruben also appeared in may of Gary’s videos including Por favor corazon, Recordemos, and Buscando un amor.

After 8 years working for Gary, Ruben made a life changing move and packed his belongings and moved to San Antonio Tx. In the beginning of his new move he started playing for various artist like Lydia San Miguel, Miguel Hernandez and The Groove and Natalie Rose to name a few.

In 2005 Ruben took a break from music but that was short lived and came back to the music scene in late 2006. He took a different approach in his music career where he decided to look for band that were needing a lead vocalist. He got his first break as a lead singer when he was working for Rock Cover Band Jinx. While singing in Jinx Ruben also played bass for Rock cover band Circle of fifths. After 7 years with C5 Ruben went in a different direction in his music career by joining a country band and started playing for Natalie Rose. It was during his time with Natalie that he was discovered by variety band Power Surge and was offered a position of Lead Vocalist in that band. During his time with Power Surge he was also a free lance musician and was playing bass for such bands like Dragonfly, Iron 60, Love Lust, The New Eighties, Clockwork to name a few bands. Once Ruben was getting recognition as a lead singer he began getting shows with such bands like Entourage, 3 Day Weekend, Texas Tone Rangers, & Night Shift.

In late 2015 Ruben decided to take an additional step in his music career and became an acoustic singer. He collaborated with Power Surge guitarist Michael Montoya and formed The Power Surge Duo

In 2017 Ruben decided to do things a little different and made his debut as a solo acoustic singer and hence forth founded Ruben P. Acoustic that has been going strong to this day. In 2020 because of the whole pandemic Ruben decided to not only keep Ruben P acoustic going but at the same time became the Male Lead Vocalist and Bass Player for the established Country Act Cactus Country where to this day is balancing between these two acts.
